226 APPLIED SCIENCES Special Certificate of Honour Two Prizes One Prize and four Certificates of Merit Such Professional distinction after leaving King's Col- lege as shall be deemed sufficient by the Principals and Professors IV Must also obtain Certificate of competent know- edge in at least four of the subjects taught by lectures in his Department of which Mathematics shall be one Must apply on printed form to be obtained in the College office to the Dean of the Department not later than the 1st of June stating the claims and qualifications which he then possesses VI fee of £1 Is is charged for the Diploma VII An Associate cannot be elected Scholar or obtain Prize in the Department in which he gained his Associateship VIII For the privileges of an Associate see page 555 but an Associate of this Department is not free to attend the Laboratories or the Workshop without payment of the usual fees XIII GENERAL LIBRARY The Engineering section of the Library contains lar -- number of Standard Works which treat especially on the subjects taught in this Department to these the Students are referred by the Professors during the course of Lectures and they have the opportunity of perusing them in the Library in the intervals between the Lectures or of taking them home for limited period subject to the Rules and Regulations stated on page 514 Fee for admission of Occasional Students 10s 6d per term or £1 Is per annum
