GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE 141 The subjects of these Lectures are Arithmetic Euclid lane and Spherical Trigonometry Mensuration Conic Sec- ons Algebraic Geometry Differential and Integral Calculus μ ifferential Equations Solid Geometry Elementary Mechanics analytical Statics Newton's Principia Hydrostatics and Elementary Astronomy The Students of each vear are divided into four Divisions ccording to their proficiency and in these Divisions they re arranged in order of merit at each Examination Prizes and Certificates -At the examination which akes place at the close of the Easter Term Prizes and Certi- icates are given under the same rules as are laid down under he head of Classical Literature -Physics Mechanics For Junior Students the Classes meet at 11 45 on ftfondays Wednesdays Thursdays and Fridays II For Senior Students the Classes meet at 10 20 on ondays Wednesdays and Thursdays and again at η Thursdays Occasional Students can attend with either Class or they ay attend the Experimental Lectures only on Mondays and hursdays at 11 45 and on Thursdays at The subjects of the Lectures in these classes are elementary nd higher Mechanics Hydrostatics Pneumatics Heat and Light Electricity and Magnetism The Students of each year are divided into two divisions cording to their proficiency and in these divisions are arranged in order of merit at each examination III For Third-year Students course of Demonstrations in the Physical Laboratory is given on Fridays from 10 20 no 11 45 Other Students are admitted to this Class as occa- isional Students
