REPOllT 75 On comparing this list with that of last year it will be seen that the number of Students has slightly dimi- nished in all the Departments excepting the Department of Applied Sciences which has considerably increased-the whole number being almost exactly the same as in the last year δ that the number of Occasional Students has increased by 29 in the Morning and in the Evening Classes that the number of boys in the School has diminished by 51 The whole number under instruction is 21 less than at the time of the last Report-the increase in the College being more than counterbalanced by the decrease in the School י The Special Classes held in the Evening in addition to the regular Evening Class System have stood as follows Civil Service Male Classes 866 וו וו Female Classes 178 Workshop Evening Class 38 Class in Practical Art 10 G-ilbart Banking Lectures 372 Total 464 Of these the Civil Service Classes have again largely increased by 2G2 the Workshop Evening Class has also increased by 16 and the Gilbart Banking Lectures by 142 the Classes in Practical Art have diminished and are now unusually small The whole number is 405 in advance of last year and 642 in advance of 1881 The Classes for Ladies at Kensington still go on success- fully under the teaching of the Staff on the principles of King's College the number of Students during the past year has been much the same about 350 The system includes Classes in Holy Scripture and Church History History Ancient and Modern English Latin Greek French German and Italian Language and Literature Arithmetic and Mathe- matics Chemistry Botany Physiology Harmony and
