250 medical department chemical laboratory Two Laboratories have been fitted up in the College pro vided with an extensive collection of chemical preparation and apparatus and with every convenience for the attainmen of knowledge of Practical Chemistry and for the prosecutio of scientific researches One of the Laboratories is especially arranged for the clas of Practical Chemistry and is open during the Winter fo two hours twice a-week and during the Summer for tw hours three times a-week See page 237 Students desirous of devoting further time to the pursuits Practical Chemistry may also become Pupils in the Laboratory under the superintendence of the Professor and of th Demonstrator of Chemistry by entering themselves at th Secretary's Office For the principal subjects to which atten tion is given see page 238 For Fees see page 257 The Laboratory is open daily from 10 till except on Saturdays when it closes at VI registration preliminary arts examination Every Medical Student is required to register the com- mencement of his professional studies at the Office of the General Medical Council but no Student is allowed to register unless he produce Certificate of having passed preliminary Examination in Arts Amongst the Arts Exa- minations recognised for this purpose are the Matriculation Examination of the University of London and the Special Arts Examinations periodically held at the Apothecaries' Society and by the College of Preceptors
