general literature and science 157 £ ambrooke JFreafee an& otfier ISntrance l&cjifritfons One Exhibition of £50 given out of the Sambrooke Trust and one of £20 given by Sir Freake Bart will be awarded to the Students who pass the best examination in Classics and Mathematics respectively on entering this Department in October 1882 provided they are under seventeen years of age on October 1882 The Examination will be in the following subjects For the Sambroohe Exhibition Two papers on Latin and Greek Translation and Composition For the Freake Exhibition Two papers on Mathematics Arithmetic Algebra and Plane Trigonometry ii Euclid Geometrical Conies and the easier parts of Analytical Geometry These Exhibitions will be given only if really creditable amount of knowledge giving promise of future excellence is displayed The next Examination will begin on Wednesday October at 10 These Exhibitions will be payable in equal instalments at the end of each of the Students' first six Terms at King's College London provided he produces to the Secretary at the end of each Term Certificate of good conduct and satisfactory progress signed respectively by the Principal and Dean
