124 THEOLOGICAL Κ Ρ ΑΤΙ Τ Μ ΕΝ Τ χχ mmm PLUMPTRE PRIZE Λ Prize of U3 in books was given at 1111 end of the Easter Term 1882 by the Rev Professor Plumptre for the best Essay in English on the Revised Version of the New Testament Prizeman- Hocking William John XXI FLUMPTRE PRIZE FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE The Friends and former Pupils of the Very liev Edward Hayes Plumptre Dean of Wells having presented to the College the sum of the same has been invested in London and North Western Railway per cent Debenture Stock The interest is given annually in one Prize of Rooks The Prize is open to Matriculated Students of the Theological Department who have been in attendance during any one of the three preceding terms No one can obtain this Prize twice and no Prize will be given except for absolute merit δ The first Examination will be held on Saturday March 1883 in Bacon's Essays Candidates must also send in an Essay on "the relation of the Baconian method of Induction to Religion and to Theology υ Names of Candidates and their Essays must be sent to the Secretary of the College before o'clock on Saturday February 24 1883 XXII class of candidates for admission to the theological department Morning Class This Class is conducted by Waiir Professor and Gill Μ Α Lecturer and is formed
