64 ANNUAL REPORT Neale First in First Class Honours and Prize man in Incorporated Law Society's Final Examination Courroux Passed in ditto Cumming וbtained the Certificate for Fellowship Pegge of the C0Uege of Surgeons Wakefield Dickinson Hailey Obtained the Certificate for Member- Macfarlane Α Α ship 0f College of Surgeons MacGavin p1nder Ε Addison Ν Jones Neale' tion Richardson Suggett Bell Τ Engineer Students Eighteenth in order of Merit Passed the Preliminary Law Examina- This extensive and varied list may be taken as proof of the satisfactory condition of the School-work in all branches The number of certificates and distinctions gained in the Oxford and Cambridge School Examination placed the School second or third in merit among all the Public Schools which sent in Candidates and the general Report of the School Examiners was highly satisfactory It will be seen that several Pupils who have passed into the Senior Departments of the College have carried off Scholarships and Prizes The changes in the Staff during the year have not been numerous but have included the appointment of new Head Master The election of the Rev Dr Maclear to the Wardenship of St Augustine's Canterbury has deprived the School of Head Master to whom the Council feel it difficult adequately to express their gratitude for his invaluable services during the last twenty years to the intellectual and moral welfare of the School Out of many distinguished Candidates for the post the Council selected the Rev Τ Stokoe of Lincoln College Oxford formerly Head Master of Richmond
