WORKSHOP EVENING CLASSES 381 SMITH WORK Students are taught to make and temper Chisels Drills nd Turning tools to weld Iron and Steel and to produce ght forgings This shop is provided with two Forces and ell-selected stock of Tools CASTING IN BRASS AND IRON The Foundry is furnished with Cupola two Brass urnaces two Drying-stones and other suitable appointments complete course of instruction in Foundry work and for reducing the lighter class of Castings The Classes are conducted by Mr David Walker Super- ntendent of the ears' practical experience as Foreman in the employ of Messrs Maudsley Sons and Field He is assisted by skilled orkmen in each department The hours of attendance are from 30 to on Tuesday nd Thursday evenings Fees £2 25 per term of about twelve weeks payable in idvance in the College office Further information may be obtained from the Superin- endent at the Workshop CLOTHWORKERS PRIZES Prize of £5 in Books for Metal-work and similar Prize for Wood is given every year by the Cloth- workers' Company at the close of the Summer Session to the Student who has worked for the three preceding Terms in he Workshop during the evening and has exhibited the greatest proficiency Prizemen 1879 Brown Joseph Henry 1880 Chapman George Jame Worl Williams Frank Phillip 1881 Overall Edwin Harris or Wood Work Wood Work
