EVENING CLASSES 323 SYLLABUS OF EVENING CLASSES DIVINITY Day and Hour of Attendance-Wednesday evening from to The subject of the Lectures of the Evening Session will be in continuation of last Winter's Course The general structure and substance of the books of the New Testament considered in the following order- The Synoptic Gospels The Acts of the Apostles with the Epistles belonging to the period recorded therein The later Epistles of St Paul St Peter and St Jade The Apocalypse The Epistles and Gospel of St John ι ELEMENTARY GREEK TESTAMENT Day and Hour of Attendance Wednesday from to The Gospels of St Mark and St Luke Introduction- Translation-Syntax-Exegesis The Lecturer hopes to make this course sufficient prepara- tion for the Entrance Examination of the Theological Depart- ment and at the same time useful to those who do not intend to enter into Holy Orders As far as possible the instruction will be adapted to the wants of individual members of the class An elementary knowledge of Greek Grammar will be expected upon entrance This may be obtained from Jacob's Smaller Greek Grammar Simpkin and Marshall 2s together with Farrar's Rules of Greek Syntax Longmans 6d or any similar books The books needed for the class are- Scrivener's Greek Testament Deighton Bell Co 4s 6d Liddell Scott's Smaller Greek Lexicon Macmillan 7s 6d χ
