the school 429 that he possesses competent knowledge of at least four Books of Euclid and Algebra as far as Quadratic Equations and has been fairly grounded in Greek or German Latin and French No boy can be removed into any of these Special Classes from another Class in the School unless able to pass the Preliminary Test Examination and to satisfy the Ex- aminers that he possesses competent knowledge of at least four books of Euclid and Algebra as far as Quadratic Equations and is fairly grounded in Greek or German Latin and French Boys attending any of these Classes are required to provide at their own cost such books as are specially re- quired for their Examination IV Medical and Legal Examinations and Home Civil ύ&φΊΟι Service Boys who wish to offer themselves for the Fellow- ship or Membership" Examination of the Royal College of Surgeons for the certificates given by the Legal Societies or for the Home Civil Service can be prepared during School hours Permission to be thus prepared must first be obtained from the Head Master All boys are expected to supply at their own cost any books which maybe required for these Examinations over and above those provided in the School Commercial Class during School hours of boys requiring instruction in Book- keeping and Commercial Arithmetic This Class will be found eminently useful for those intended for Mercantile life and who are of too advanced an age to be placed in one of the ordinary Classes It is directed by Masters specially acquainted with the requirements of those attending it and boys can be efficiently prepared for any Office or Clerkship to which they may obtain nomination
