MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 299 The Subjects are Surgical Anatomy and Surgical Operations Exami- nation and Report on Cases of Surgical Patients Performance of Surgical Operations upon the Dead Subject and Application of Surgical Apparatus Any Candidate who has passed this Examination may go in for Honours in Surgery during the following week Scholarship of the value of £50 per annum for two years and two Gold Medals are awarded Master in Surgery The Examination for this Degree commences on the fourth Monday in November in each year Fee £5 Certificates are required- Of having taken the Degree of Bachelor of Surgery in this University Of having attended subsequently to having taken the Degree of Bachelor of Surgery in this University To Clinical or Practical Surgery during Two Years in Hospital 01 Medical Institution recognised by this University Or to Clinical or Practical Surgery during One Year in Hospital or Medical institution recognised by this University and of having been engaged during Three Years in the Practice of his Profession Or of having been engaged during Five Years in the Practice of his Profession either before or after taking the Degree of Bachelor of Surgery in this University One year of attendance on Clinical or Practical Surgeiy or two years of Practice will be dispensed with in the case of those Candi- dates who at the Examination have been placed in the First Division Of Moral Character signed by two persons of respectability Candidates will be examined in- Logic and Psychology Any Candidate who has passed in Mental and Moral Science at either the or the Sc Examination or has taken the Degree of in this University is exempted from this part of the Exami- nation And any Candidate who has passed the Second Examination may at any subsequent Examination present himself lor Logic and Psychology alone if he so prefer thereby gaining exemption if he should pass from examination in that subject when he presents himself to be examined for the Degree of Master in Surgery Surgery The most distinguished Candidate in Surgery at this Examination receives Gold Medal of £20 value Candidates who have obtained the Degree of Bachelor of Medicine pre- viously to 186G will be admitted to the Examination for the Degree of Master in Surgery without having taken the Degree of Bachelor of Surgery and in the case of such Candidates the attendance on Surgical Practice required by Regulation may commence from the date of the Degree For full Regulations see the London University Calendar
