54 ANNUAL REPORT "Brewer Prize and to be given each year for the highest proficiency in Modern History and English Literature alternately By this his name will be perpetuated in connection with the College which he served so long and so faithfully and the Council believe that his memory will long be respectfully and affectionately cherished by those who as colleagues and as pupils have known the value of his work and the sterling excellence of his character The following is the List of Honours Oxford Milner Alfred Derby and Eldon Law Scholar Cambridge Warner William Naden Divinity Student St John's Woodd Townsend John First Class Classical Tripos Milton Henry Fellow of Caius College Walters Prank Bridgman Fellow of Queen's -The work of the Department of Applied Sciences calls for no special remark The Council regret to announce that its numbers have fallen from 89 to 78 but they have no reason to suppose that there is any falling off either in the energy or excellence of its work or its reputation as School of Engineering and Applied Science In this Department the valuable James Easton Prize given for the last seven years by Messrs Easton and Anderson in the shape of free admission to apprenticeship under that distinguished firm has now been discontinued in consequence of change of partnership The Council while regretting the loss of this very valuable Prize desire to express their sense of the obligation which the College owes to Messrs Easton and Anderson and their satisfaction in hearing from them that the King's College Students introduced by it to their Service have proved themselves in every way worthy of the advantage given them and have well sustained the reputation of the College
