MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 261 Patient department at one o'clock daily and remain there until all the Out-Patients have been prescribed for shall occupy separate desk and see such patients as are allotted to him by the Physician in attendance Candidates for this office must have served the office of Clinical Clerk to the Out-Patients and are not eligible for examination at period later than five years and half from the time of their Matriculation in the Medical Depart- ment Candidates may be admitted to the examination before obtaining their diplomas but no one will be allowed to enter upon his duties until he shall be qualified by some diploma to practise medicine or shall be full member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England-that is have passed in Medicine as well as Surgery Such Assistant House Physicians as shall have performed their duties to the satisfaction of the Colnmittee of Manage- ment and the Council during six months shall if otherwise eligible be considered as having eteris paribus claim to be elected to the office of House Physician Physician-Accoucheur's Assistant -He shall be qualified by some Diploma to practise Medicine Surgery or Mid- wifery at the date at which his duties commence and shall have served the office of Out-patient or In-patient Clerk He shall before entering upon office pay the sum of 30 for board and lodging during his six months' residence in the Hospital Candidates will be examined in Midwifery and in the Diseases of Women and Children Student shall not be elected to this office at period later than six years from the date of his Matriculation in the Medical Department The duties of Physician-Accoucheur's Assistant are as follows He shall have the immediate superintendence of all the Midwifery cases under the direction of the Physician-Ac- coucheur or of the Assistant Physician-Accoucheur in the absence of the Physician-Accoucheur
