254 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT taken equally from the practice of each of the Physicians or Surgeons as the case may be To give in writing for the Medical Prizes the substance of three of the Clinical Lectures one delivered by each of the Physicians and for the Surgical Prizes the substance of two of the Clinical Lectures one delivered by each of the Surgeons which have been delivered in the preceding Session The lectures to be selected by the Examiners To answer four questions on cases occurring in the practice of the Physicians or Surgeons respectively within the Hospital the cases to be selected by the Examiners Certificates of Honour are also given to such Candidates for Prizes in each class as the respective Professors consider entitled to receive them All Students occasional as well as matriculated who have not exceeded their fourth year will be admitted to contend for the Class Prizes and Certificates of Honour provided they have attended -in Anatomy Physiology Medicine and Surgery one course but not more than three courses of lectures -and in the other subjects one course but not more than two courses of lectures Candidates must also have regularly attended the Examinations in the several classes during the preceding Session Special Certificates of Merit are also awarded to those Pupils who are most distinguished in the written examinations held in the several classes during the Winter and Summer Sessions The next Examination for Prizes in the subjects of the Winter Session will commence on Monday March 15 1880 Candidates must deliver their names in writing to the Dean not later than one o'clock on Monday March specifying the subjects in which they wish to be examined the date of their entrance to the College and the number of Courses they have attended upon each subject in which they wish to be examined The next Examination for Prizes in the subjects of the Summer Session will commence on Thursday July 15 1880
