THEOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT 1874 Shears Edward Russell Archibald James Holme 1875 Russell Archibald James Holme 1876 Hands Alfred Watson 1877 Hyde Henry Barry XVI JELF PRIZE FOR DOGMATIC THEOLOGY The Rev Shelford Vicar of St Matthew's Upper Clapton and formerly Theological Student in King's College offers an Annual Prize of the value of Ā£5 as memorial to the late Jelf the Principal under whom the Theological Department was established This Prize will be open to all Matriculated Students of the Theological Department who have been placed in the First Class in any Examination in Dogmatic Theology in the year preceding the Examination for the Prize The next Examination will be held on Saturday January 25 1879 in the following subjects Pearson on the Creed St Augustine de Doctrina Christiana Names of intending Candidates to be sent in to the Secretary of the College before o'clock on Saturday January 18 No Student can obtain the Prize more than once and no Prize will be given unless the Examiners are satisfied with the absolute merit of the papers of the highest Candidate Name of Prizeman 1878 Johnson Marcus Ernest William XVII WORDSWORTH LATIN PRIZE The Lord Bishop of Lincoln gives to this department in each year copy of his Greek Testament as Prize Junior Prize in the same subject is given by the Council
