CIVIL SERVICE CLASSES 359 As the work is progressive in all the subjects from the be- ginning of the course to the end students are strongly advised to join these classes if possible at the commencement of the course Gentlemen joining these classes must produce letter of introduction from the clergyman of the district in which they live or from their employer or the head of their office or from some other known person Gentlemen desirous of commencing or continuing their studies during the vacation of the class they wish to join or rejoin should apply to the Teacher who will direct them to another class affording suitable preparation during the interval Arrangements are made by which students may join an extra class for additional assistance in the most important subjects of these examinations Books -Students cannot avail themselves of the Class lectures without the Books required They are strongly advised however to get those recommended also as much time may be wasted in studying unsuitable text books The former are kept in stock and may be obtained from the Hall Porter of the College at any time when the College is open The latter if not in stock may be ordered The prioe and publisher of each book are given where the book is first mentioned in this prospectus Bates of Admission -A special slip giving particulars of the dates for beginning course is printed from time to time and may be obtained by application to Cunningham Esq King's College London
