298 EVENING CLASSES SYLLABUS OF LECTURES DIVINITY Day and Hour of Attendance-Wednesday evening from to These lectures will be devoted to the consideration of The Old Testament considered in its historical order with view to the general substance and the mutual re- lation of the various books The course for this session will begin with the First Book of Samuel ELEMENTARY GREEK TESTAMENT Day and Hour of Attendance Wednesday from to The Gospels of St Mark and St Luke Introduction- Translation-Syntax-Exegesis The Lecturer hopes to make this course sufficient prepara- tion for the Entrance Examination of the Theological Depart- ment and at the same time useful to those who do not intend to enter into Holy Orders As far as possible the instruction will be adapted to the wants of individual members of the class An elementary knowledge of Greek Grammar will be expected upon entrance This may be obtained from Jacob's Smaller Greek Grammar Simpkin and Marshall 2j together with Farrar's Rules of Greek Syntax Longmans Is 6d or any similar books The books needed for the class are- Scrivener's Greek Testament Deighton Bell Co 4s 6d Liddell Scott's Smaller Greek Lexicon Macmillan 7s 6d
