258 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT at the date at which his duties commence by some diploma to practise Medicine and shall have served to the satisfaction of the Physicians the office of In-Patient Clinical Clerk for the full period of six months He shall previously to his appoint- ment produce certificate of moral character to the satis- faction of the Committee of Management He shall before entering upon office pay the sum of SOI for board during his six months' residence in the Hospital The viva voce examination shall be in Anatomy and Morbid Anatomy the written examination in Materia Medica Toxico- logy in the Practice of Medicine and in Midwifery The Physician's Assistant shall visit the medical wards daily between the hours of 30 and 12 15 o'clock in the morning accompany the Physician during his visit and prescribe under his direction shall see such patients in the evening as the Physician may think necessary and be responsible for the proper treatment of the medical cases In the event of the death of any patient in the Medical Wards he shall send immediate notice to the Physician under whose care the patient was admitted and to the Pathological Registrar Assistant House Physician -The examination for this office is the same as that required for the office of Physician's Assistant This Officer will not reside in the Hospital but he is per- mitted to board at the Hospital on payment of the sum of 20 before entering upon the duties of his office He shall supply the place of the Physician's Assistant during his necessary absence and assist him when required except at such times as he is in attendance on the Physicians to the Out-Patients He shall make chemical and microscopical examinations and be responsible for all instruments and apparatus entrusted to his care He shall attend in the Out- Patient department at one o'clock daily and remain there until all the Out-Patients have been prescribed for shall occupy separate desk and see such patients as are allotted to him by th- Physician in attendance
