MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 217 The attendance of each Student at Lectures is regularly marked At the close of each division of the Ν inter Ses- sion and at the close of the Summer Session the Dean prepares Report of the attendance general character and conduct of each Student which is forwarded to his Parent or Guardian after heing submitted to and signed by the Prin- cipal copy of these reports is kept for future reference Students are requested to give in their Schedules to the Medical Librarian as soon as they can procure them from the Hall and the College The Medical Library is open daily to all Students of this Department for the purposes of study seepage 211 they also have the use of the General Library see page 454 limited number of Students are admitted to reside η ithin the College see page 455 There is Dining Hall in the College for the accommodation of Resident and other Students of the College see page 459 Boxes are provided in the Corridors and in the Anatomical Department of the College in which Students may keep their Caps and Gowns Books &c See page i0 Books aud Stationery of all kinds may be obtained in the Secretary's office IX Course or Medical Education recommended io the Medical Students by the Professors of King's College The Medical Professors of King's College sensible of the difficulties which beset the Student at the commencement of his career propose the following Course for his guidance in the prosecution of his studies The Professors strongly recommend that four years should be spent in attending the Course of Instruction at the College and Hospital Although period of three years is sufficient to complete the attendance on the Courses of Lectures and Hospital Practice prescribed by the College of Physicians the College of Surgeons and the Society of Apothecaries yet
