2 annual report Comparing this list with the list of 1876 it will be observed that the number of Matriculated Students has considerably increased in the Theological and Applied Science Departments remains almost exactly the same in the Evening Classes and has diminished in the Department of General Literature and Science and the Medical Department but presents on the whole an increase of 25 that the number of Occasional Students has increased by 20 in the Morning Department and remains exactly as before in the Evening Department that the number of boys in the School has decreased by 12 The whole number under regular instruction is 33 in advance of the list of last year To this list are to be added as in the last year certain Classes held in conuexion with the Evening Class Depart- ment although not technically belonging to its regular system Class for preparation for Home Civil Ser- In these there is an advance of 83 upon the list of last year -In the Theological Department there is marked and satisfactory increase the numbers having risen from 24 to 45 This is in very small degree directly due to the constitution of Evening Classes in connexion with this Department for these have not yet begun to tell in consequence of the need of preparation felt by many Students desirous of joining them As yet there are but six Students matriculated in this branch of the Department although in the preparatory Evening Classes there are about 20 students preparing for vice Workshop Class Gilbart Lectures on Banking 300 38 432 Total 770
