388 THE SCHOOL VI gymnasium Master-R Castellote The Gymnasium is open to all boys during the dinner- hour on Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday and for one hour every day after School on payment of Fee of 7s per Term VII SPECIAL CLASSES Woolwich Cooper's Hill and the London University Matriculation Examinations Classes to prepare boys for these Examinations form part of the arrangements of the School No boy can enter these classes without the distinct per- mission of the Head Master and will be required first to pass preliminary test Examination In the case of the Woolwich and Cooper's Hill Exami- nations Candidates must satisfy the Examiners that they possess competent knowledge of at least four Books of Euclid and Algebra as far as Quadratic Equations and have been fairly grounded in Greek or German Latin and French In the case of the Matriculation Class Candidates lor admission must satisfy the Examiners that they have competent knowledge of the first four Books of Euclid Algebra as far as Simple Equations as also of Elementary Greek or German Latin and French It is found that course of three Terms' Instruction is absolutely necessary to enable boy to pass the Examination for Matriculation at the London University No boy can be removed into any of these Special Classes from another Class in the School unless prepared to pass the Preliminary Test Examination Boys attending any of these Classes are required to provide at their own cost such books as are specially re- quired for their Examination and are not included amongst those provided by the College
