MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 24 In case there should be no candidate of sufficient merit in any year the Scholarship of that year will not be awarded Any Student preparing for the Preliminary Scientific Examination at the University of London and not attending the Lectures on Anatomy or Physiology and not engaged in the Dissecting room during the first Winter and Summer Sessions will be admissible to examination for the Junior Scholarships at the end of his second Winter and Summer Sessions and will in all respects rank as first year's man These Scholarships can be held only so long as the Scholar continues to attend Lectures as Matriculated Student in King's College See General Rules page 75 The payments for these Scholarships are made at the end of each half of the Winter Session and at the end of the Summer Session beginning with the first half of the Winter Session after the election but only on production to tbe Secretary of Certificate of good conduct and satisfactory progress in his studies signed by the Principal and Dean respectively The amounts due may be applied for in the Secretary's office any day succeeding the second Friday in January April and August Any Scholar desirous of obtaining certificate of having gained Scholarship may obtain the same by application to the Secretary Senior Scholarship One in each year of £40 tenable for two years This Scholarship is open to all Matriculated Students of this department being also perpetual Pupils of the Hospital who have completed their third but have not exceeded their fourth Winter Session Candidates shall be examined in the following subjects Medicine Surgery Obstetric Medicine Forensic Medicine The examinations shall include questions in Surgical and
