GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE 125 XIII Inglts tl 01arsi tps Founded 1857 by George Monckton Eso- Somerford Hall Penk- ridge and Others in Memory of the Right Honourable Sir Robert Harry Inglis Baronet Regulations Two Scholarships are given every year of 50 each tenable for one Year if the Dividends on the sum invested amount to so much and if not then of such amount equaעy divided between the two Scholaiships as the Dividends shall produce II One Scholarship is awarded for the highest profi- ciency in portion or portions of Modern History and the other Scholarship for the highest proficiency in the English Language and Literature of one or more periods III These Scholarships are open to all Matriculated Students of King's College not being Associates and not belonging to the Theological Department who shall have completed three Terms and not exceeded nine Terms at the date of competition and to all Pupils who shall have been at least one year in the School provided they shall up to the time of competition have duly conformed to and observed all the Rules and Regulations relating to Matriculated Stu- dents or Pupils of the School Students of the Evening Class Department are subject to special conditions for which see Evening Class Department Section XII IV The examination is held in the Easter Term of each year No one may be elected to either of these Scholar- ships more than once but both of them may be held together
