APPLIED SCIENCES 177 at least two of the following handicrafts-filing and fitting turning smith's work pattern-making and moulding Due notice will be given of the time of this Examination The selection of Candidates will be determined by marks gained at both Examinations The Exhibitions will be tenable for two years but the right to enjoy an Exhibition for the second year will be con- tingent on each Exhibitioner receiving from the Dean of the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences Certificate of having passed satisfactorily the Examinations at the end of the first year Exhibitioners will be entitled to attend without payment of fees the following College Classes in the first year viz Mathematics Mechanics Geometrical Mechanical and Free- hand Drawing Manufacturing Art and Machinery and in the second year Classes in the same subjects or such other subjects as the Dean of the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences shall think desirable wit the view of quali- fying them to compete for the Whitworth Scholarships Exhibitioners will be permitted to Matriculate in the Department oi Engineering and Applied Sciences at the College on payment of the usual entrance fees and so to become eligible for the Associateship on the conditions laid down in the College Calendar Competitors must send in their names on forms to be obtained in the College Office together with their Certificates on or before Thursday May 24 to the Secretary King's College London 10 No Exhibition will be giyen except for actual merit in the Examination VII SCHOLARSHIPS AND PRIZES The Inglis and Sam'ell rf 01arsl ips the οΠι Hrtal for Hat ematice the $tcpf en IHwnjirr and Extent Uri re are all open to Students of this Department
