applied sciences 167 XII All Tool-Boxes are to be kept under the Benches as far as the space will permit XIII Students of the First and Second Years will be required to adhere to the course of work laid down for the year by the Superintendent of the Workshop and the Dean of the Department Students are to keep to their own work and not to walk about the Shop so as to be in the way or to hinder other Students when at work XIV No Student can be admitted into the Workshop at any other hours than those mentioned in the Time Table without previous permission of the Superintendent and of the Dean of the Department This sanction will only be given on condition that the Applicant is not thereby neglecting other duties in the College and that he pays an additional fee equal at least to one-half that paid by Occasional Students No Student can however be permitted to occupy the time of or have any assistance from the Workmen out of the regular hours of attendance named in the Calendar III regulations respecting students The days fixed for the admission of new Students in the Academical Year 1876-77 are Tuesday October Wednesday January 17 and Wednesday April 18 An examination of all new Students takes place on their joining this Department in Euclid Books II Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra including Simple Equations with the view of ascertaining that they are sufficiently advanced to enable them to take advantage of the College classes The Principal and Professors have the power of sending back for time any who may be considered disqualified for admission One Freake" Exhibition of £20 and two College Exhi- bitions of £15 each and two of £10 each will be given in October 1876 to the Students who pass the best Examinations on entering this Department Seepage 174
