128 general literature and science shall either become an Associate of King's College London or shall during the three months preceding each Quarter- day the months of July August and September excepted have continued either to attend lectures as Matriculated Student of the College or as Pupil of the School or shall have entered upon his studies at the University of Oxford Cambridge or Durham In the event of the Scholar having been at King's College less than three Terms previous to the Term in which the Competition takes place he shall only retain the Scholar- ship as long as he continues to attend lectures at the College VL No one may be elected to either of these Scholar- ships more than once but both of them may be held together by the same Student and are tenable with any other King'3 College Scholarship VII All accumulations arising from lapsed resigned for- feited or non-awarded Scholarships will be invested for the purpose of increasing the Endowment Fund The next examination for these Scholarships will take place on Thursday April 19 1877 The names of all Candidates must be sent in writing to the Secretary and the fees for the Easter Term paid before two o'clock on Saturday April li after which hour no name will be received The following will be the subjects of examination in 1877 Scholarship for Modern History English History -Accession of Edward III to Death of Richard III Read -VVarburton's Edward III Gambler's Lan- caster and York andPaston Letters Stubbs's Constitutional History part of Vol II French History -Accession of Philip VI to Death of Louis XI Read Guizot or Michelet
