GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE 113 Subjects for Lectures 18 6-77 Senior Division Commencing with Chaucer The Prologue to the Canterbury Tales Junior Division English History during the Tudor and Stuart periods Elements of English Grammar Every Student is expected to procure Professor Brewer's Atlas of History and Geography Books of reference are recommended from time to time and are provided in the College Library French and German For both Divisions Lectures are given- In French on Monday and Thursday from to In German on Tuesday and Friday from to Special Instruction is also given from to 30 to those wishing for additional time at these subjects II An extra German Class will also be formed on Tuesdays and Fridays between the hours of and to meet the con- venience of those Students on whom the study of German is not obligatory and who may be prevented from attending the general class Fee 21 2s per term 51 as per annum III At the examination in June Prize of Books and Certificate of Honour are subject to the conditions contained in Rule for Prizes in Classical Literature given to the first and second Students respectively in the First Division of each of these subjects and Prize and Certificate of Approval to the first and second Students respectively in the Second Division IV The Professor of German gives each year Prize to that Student who has most distinguished himself in German during the Academical Year by steady work and ttention Η
