ANNUAL REPORT 51 lesign his post which he has held for 31 years iii consequence of his engagements under the Privy Council Mr Monk who has for many years acted as Organist and Choir Master succeeds to Professor Hullah's post The Council have had great pleasure in recognizing the valuable services of both of the retiring Professors by conferring Honorary Fellowship upon them -The Department of General Literature and Science has the same number of Matriculated Students as at the time of the last Report the Occasional Students hav- ing increased The work of this Department calls for no special remark the regularity and efficiency of the teaching the conduct of the Students and the distinctions gained by them are entirely satisfactory although the Council would gladly see an increase of their numbers With view to facilitate closer connection between this Department and the Department of Applied Sciences with the School the Council have by the advice of the Departmental Boards agreed to admit at lower fees to both Departments boys who have spent satisfactorily period of five Terms in the School In this Department the Council have elected into the place of Mr Nixon Mr Warr of Trinity College Cambridge in the First Class of the Classical Tripos of 1874 The List of Honours is as usual subjoined Wood Fellow of Pembroke Oxford Milner Proxiioe for the Ireland University Scholar Jenkins Exhibitioner at Balliol C'oller Exhibition at Wadham Oxford Woodd Η Exhibition at King's College Cambridge Drew Exhibition at King's College Cambridge Davis Ρ 20th Wrangler
