MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 249 He shall apportion the cases see that efficient arrangements are made for due attendance upon them and accompany the Students to their first cases He shall require daily report from the Students in attend- ance and himself visit at least once all the women who have been recently confined He shall keep an accurate record of the cases in book send for the Physician-Accoucheur in all cases of difficulty and be held responsible for immediately reporting all cases of irregularity or neglect He shall keep record of such cases of interest in the Department for the Diseases of Women and Children as the Physician Accoucheur may need He shall report to the Dean of the Medical Department by the 20tb of March and the 20th of July respectively the attendance of Students on Midwifery cases Assistant House-Accoucheur -The subjects of the examina- tion for this office are the same as those required for the office of Physician-Accoucheur's Assistant He shall have served the office of In-Patient Clinical Clerk for the Phy- sician for Diseases of Women and Children and Physician- Accoucheur or Out-Patient Clerk to the Assistant Physician for Diseases of Women and Children for period of six months Students are not eligible for examination for this office at period later than five years and half from the time of their Matriculation in the Medical Department Candidates may be admitted to examination for this office before they have obtained their diplomas to practice medicine but will not be allowed to enter upon their duties until such diplomas have been obtained Out-Patient Dressers -There shall be eighteen Out-Patient Dressers nine for each Assistant-Surgeon They shall have attended diligently six months' Surgical Practice The viva voce examination shall be principally in Anatomy the written examination principally in Surgery including also writing Prescriptions in both cases having particular refe- rence to the nature of Out-Patient Surgery They shall
