APPLIED SCIEtiCES 1S3 III Must produce Certificate of proficiency in study as evinced by eitber Special Certificate of Honour Two Prizes One Prize and four Certificates of Merit Such Professional distinction after leaving King's Col- lege as shall be deemed sufficient by tbe Principals and Professors IV Must also obtain Certificate of competent know- ledge in at least four of the subjects taught by lectures in this Department of which Mathematics shall be one Must apply in writing to the Dean of the Department not later than the st of June in each year stating the claims and qualifications which he then possesses An Associate cannot be elected Scholar or obtain Prize in the Department in which he gained his Assc- ciateship For the privileges of an Associate see page 456 but an Associate of this Department is not free to attend the Laboratories or the Workshop without payment of the usual fees VIII General Library The Engineering section of the Library contains large number of Standard Works which treat especially on the subjects taught in this Department to these the Students are referred by the Professors during the course of Lectures and they have the opportunity of perusing them in the Library in the intervals between the Lectures or of taking them home for limited period subject to the Rules and Regulations stated on page 426 Fee for admission of Occasional Studentr 10 6d per term or £1 per annum
