APPLIED SCIENCES 16ό XII All Tool-Boxes are to be kept under the Benches as far as the space will permit XIII Students are to keep to their own work and not to walk about the shops so as to be in the way or to hinder other Students when at work XIV No Student can be admitted into the Workshops at any other hours than those mentioned in the Time Table without previous permission of the Dean of the Department as well as that of the Superintendent This sanction will only be given on condition that the Applicant is not thereby neglect- ing other duties in the College No Student can however be permitted to occupy the time of or have any assistance from the Workmen out of the regular hours of attendance named in the Calendar The infringement of this Rule by any Student will have the effect of causing him to be entirely shut out from the Workshops during the period not specified in the Calendar for regular attendance III REGULATIONS RESPECTING STUDENTS The days fixed for the admission of new Students in the Academical Year 1875-76 are Wednesday September 29 Wed- nesday January 19 and Wednesday April 26 An examination of all new Students takes place on their joining this Department in Euclid Books II Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra including Simple Equations with the view of ascertaining that they are sufficiently advanced to enable them to take advantage of the College classes The Principal and Professors have the power of sending back for time any who may be considered disqualified for admission One Freake" Exhibition of £40 and two College Exhibi- tions of £30 and £21 will be given in October 1875 to the three Students who pass the best Examinations on entering this Department Seepage 172
