121 GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE XII jfreafet ΙΞχδίίΜίοη One Exhibition of £2כ is given annually by Charles John Freake Esq to the Student who passes the best ex- amination on joining this Department at the beginning of the Michaelmas Term The Examination will be in the following subjects Latin and Greek Translation and Composition Mathematics Arithmetic Algebra and Plane Trigonometry ii Euclid Geometrical Conies and the easier parts of Analytical Geometry Outlines of English History to the end of the Eighteenth Century Shakespeare's Richard II The 1ext Examination will begin on Thursday Septem- ber 30 1875 This Exhibition is payable in equal instalments at the end of each of the Students' first three Terms provided he produces to the Secretary Certificate of good conduct nnd satisfactory progress signed respectively by the Principal and Dean Two Prizes of £5 in Books will be given to the Students placed Second and Third in the same Examination in October 1875 No Exhibition or Prize will be given except for actual merit in the Examination
