73 Btng's College Hon&on This College is situated between the thoroughfares of the Strand and the Thames Embankment close to the Temple Station" on the Metropolitan District Railway by which easy access can be obtained from the more distant parts of London and the suburbs The building includes bouse for the Principal rooms for about twenty-five Matriculated Students Chapel tbe general class-rooms for the College and School museums libraries laboratories anatomical rooms and workshops There is Hospital situated in Portugal Street Lincoln's Inn connected with the Medical department The General Education of King's College London is carried on in six distinct but mutually related Depart- m3nts viz The Theological Department II The Department of General Literature and Science Classical Division Modern Division Oriental Section III The Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences IV The Medical Department The Evening Classes VI The School And under these separate divisions every information re- specting the College is given in the following pages The general government and administration of the College under the Charter is vested in the College Council The whole of the College is under the supervision of the Principal and the teaching is carried on by him and by the Professors Lecturers and Demonstrators one 01 the Pro- fessors in each Department being annually appointed as its Dean The School is under the special charge of the Head Master and his Assistant Masters The Students of the College are either Matriculated or Occasional
