ANNUAL REPORT 53 Mr Rust has been engaged for twenty-five years in the service of King's College Again and again it has been made known to the Council that tbe great success of the School in late years has been in large manner due to Mr Rust who possessed in marked degree the confidence of the parents the respect of the Masters and the affection of the pupils "The zeal and ability with which he discharged all his duties must make his loss severely felt and he will be long remembered as one of those to whom both the College and School are deeply indebted It is also with great regret that the Council have received the resignation of the Rev Standen who has been compelled through loss of eyesight to retire from tbe Mastership which he had filled ably and zealously for nearly fourteen years In consequenee partly of the rearrangements rendered necessary by Mr Rust's death and partly of the steady advance of members they have elected as Assistant Masters Mr Charles Abbot Brown Foundation Scholar of Christ Church Oxford Mr Edwin Arthur Eade Scholar of New College Oxford and Mr Arthur John Wright of Exeter College Oxford Mr John Wesley Hales Lecturer in Classical Composition has been also appointed on the regular Staff with the special charge of the Sixth Form Mr Charles Maxted has been appointed an additional Arithmetical Master The list of Honours subjoined will show the efficiency and maintain the high reputation of the School -Oxford Bullock Pemb First Class Honours in Theology Leupolt Open Scholarship at Brasenose Wilcocks Second Class Moderations in Classics Philpot Η Radcliffe Studentship
