MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 273 Examination in Arts An Examination in Arts will be held at the Hall three times in the year viz on the last Friday and Saturday in the months 01' January April and September The subjects of Examination will be announced in the Medical Journals three months before each Examination Candidates for this Exami nation will be required to enter their names in book kept at the Beadle's Office not less than Week before the day of Examination together with Fee of One Guinea Professional Examinations Every Candidate intending to oifer himself for Examination must give notice on or before the Monday previous to the day of Examination and must at the same time deposit all the required Testimonials with the Fee at the Office of the Beadle where attendance is given every day except Sunday irom Ten to Four o'Clock Saturdays Ten to Two The Examination is divided into two parts and is conducted partly in writing and partly viva voce First Examination which may be passed after the Second Winter Session embraces the following subjects Physicians' Prescriptions Anatomy and Physiology General and Practical Chemistry Botany and Materia Medica Second Examination at the termination of the Medical studies Principles and Practice of Medicine Pathology and Therapeutics Midwifery including the Diseases of Women and Children Forensic Medicine and Toxi- cology Certificate of attendance on not less than 20 cases will be received from legally qualified Practitioner Testimonials required of Candidates for the First Examination Of having passed an Examination in Arts recognised by the Medical Council '1 Of having completed the curriculum of study to the close of the Second Winter Session Second or Pass Examination Certificate of having completed five years' apprenticeship which may include the period spent at the Hospital of being twenty-one years of age and of good moral conduct Of having passed the First Examination Of having completed the prescribed curriculum of study according to the Schedule including personal attendance of twenty cases of Midwifery and of having received instructions in Practical Vaccination Of having served the office of Clinical Clerk at recognised Hospital during the period of six weeks at least Of having been examined at the Class Examinations instituted by tbe various Professors and Lecturers of their respective Medical Colleges and Schools Fee for Certificate of qualification to practise six guineas the hall to le paid at the First Examination
