210 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT the Wards of King's College Hospital is kept by the Sam- brooke Medical and Surgical Registrars XII the associateship At the end of each Winter Session the Medical Board lay before the Council the names of those Medical Students whom they recommend to be elected Associates of King's College London on account of general good conduct and regular attendance upon Lectures Examinations and Hospital Practice For the attainment of this distinction All Candidates Must have studied four years at King's College in tbe manner recommended by the Professors see Section VIII or must have studied Three Winter and Two Summer Sessions at King's College and afterwards have obtained the Diploma or Licence of some tecognised examining body II Must have obtained some one of the following dis- tinctions Medical Scholarship The office of Physician's Assistant House Surgeon Physician Accoucheur's Assistant or of Assistant Demonstrator of Anatomy served with distinction together with one prize Three Medical Prizes in different subjects of which tbe Warneford may be recorded as one or two In- Patient Clinical Appointments served with distinc tion together with Two Prizes First-class Honours at tbe University of London at one of the Examinations for the Degrees of Medi- cine Surgery or Science subsequent to tbe Pre- limiuary Science Examination Such other professional distinction as shall be deemed sufficient by the Medical Board
