304 EVENING CLASSES 25 GEOLOGY Day and Hour of Attendance-Monday from to The entire Course Winter and Summer will consist of about Thirty Lectures Winter Session In the Michaelmas Term will be described the various agencies at present in operation which elucidate the formation of the Rock Masses The Earth's general contour the distribution of Forest and Desert Regions Rain and River Action Atmospheric Influences Oceanic Deposits Volcanoes Glaciers Earthquakes the Rise of Mountain Chains and the growth of Coral Islands &c will be explained In the Lent Term technical words bearing on the subject will be defined the theories of geological time and palseonto- logical evidence will be discussed and the lower forms of life represented by Fossils will be treated of Summer Session In the Easter Term the Classification of Fossils will be continued especially with reference to the higher forms of life and general summary will be given of the relation- ship between present and past organisms During the Course there will be Field Lecture in the neighbourhood of London as well as an excursion of two or three days' duration to some locality of Geological interest at distance from London 26 ZOOLOGY Day and Hour of Attendance-Monday from to The Lectures will embrace the Natural History of the various forms of animals dredged from the depths Of the Ocean and will include the following subjects
