EVENING classes 283 ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE Four Classes Days and Hours of Attendance-Tuesday and Friday from to or from to or both hours on both nights by additional payment GRAMMAR CLASSES Rev Adolphus On Tuesday to Junior Class For study of the Elements of Grammar to Senior Class Grammatical Composition Abstract and Precis-Writing and Indexing On Friday to Junior Class Dictation Parsing and the Analysis of Sentences to Senior Class History and Structure of the English Language LITERATURE CLASSES Rev Scrvmgour Mr Scrymgour will give course of Lectures on some writers of the first half of the seventeenth century on Tuesday and Friday evenings from to o'clock the latter part of the time being given to the examination of written work prepared by the Students The aim of these Lectures will be to encourage thoughtful study of the great works of English Literature and to cultivate real knowledge by an attempt at original expression on the part of the Student The following works will form the subject of the Course as far as time may permit Shakspeare's Hamlet Bacon's Essays and Advancement of Learning
