274 EVENING CLASSES See page 25 Geology 304 26 Zoology 304 27 Logic 305 28 Political Economy 305 Public Reading gog and Speaking ן 30 Law 309 II Shorthand 311 Rev Thomas Wiltshire Professor Rtmer Jones Τ Escott Rev Professor Rocers Plcmptre Esq Professor Cutler Soutter Esq Dean of the Department for 1873 Professor Adams IV courses op technical instruction With view to systematize the teaching of the Evening Classes and so at once to make it more valuable in itself and to bring it into connection with the present movement for Technical Education the following schemes for definite courses of instruction have been drawn up by the Principal and the Board of Professors and Lecturers and are hereby strongly recommended to the attention of Students These schemes are intended to prepare Students as far as possible for the following professions and trades Τπε Law Civil Service Mercantile Chemical Manufacture Engineering or Mining Architecture Special Diplomas will be granted to such Students as shall pass satisfactorily through each Course and every effort will be made to obtain recognition of these diplomas by the Heads of offices and the great employers of labour in each depart- ment The rules for obtaining such diplomas will be as follows
