ANNUAL REPORT 55 The usual Confirmation was held in the College Chapel on March 18 by the Lord Bishop of London Five Students of the College and ninety-three boys of the School were presented and nearly all received their first Communion on the next Sunday in the Chapel In concluding this portion of their Report the Council are glad to be able to congratulate the Proprietors on the satisfactory reports of the conduct and discipline of the students and boys received from the Principal the Deans of the various Departments and the Head Master of the School II The Council now pass on to the special circumstances of the past year They have to announce with deep regret the death of the Rev Jelf formerly Principal of the College who as Member of the Council continued to take the deepest interest in the welfare of the Institution for which he had so long and so energetically laboured Of his services as Principal the Council have already had opportunities of expressing their high and grateful appreciation and they now feel that in him the College has lost one who was still its warm and earnest friend and was link of connexion with the work and the distinctions of the past They have thought it right to take measures for erecting memorial tablet to him the fourth of the Principals of King's College who have now passed away The Council have since the last Court added the following names to the list of Honorary Fellows Charles Kelly formerly Student now Curator of the Museum and Assistant Physician Isaac Burney Yeo Μ Β formerly Student for six years Medical Tutor and now Assistant Physician Thomas Pridgin Teale Ox formerly Student now Surgeon to Leed3 Infirmary and Lecturer on Surgery at the Leeds School of Medicine Francis Anstie formerly Student now Senior Assistant Physician and Lecturer on Materia Medica at Westminster Hospital
