Annual Eepoet presented to the Coukt of Governors 071 Friday April 28th 1871 The Earl of Powis in the Chair The Council of King's College London have the honour to present to the Court of Proprietors their Fortieth Annual Report referring in it as usual first to the regular work of the College and next to the special circumstances of the last year -The number of those who attended the Classes in the Lent Term of 1871 was as follows no name of Student or Pupil being reckoned more than once Matriculated Students Theological Department and Class of Candidates Department of General Literature gg and Science Department of Applied Sciences 57 Medical Department 141 Evening Classes Department 94 406 Occasional Students Evening Classes 425 Other Departments 45 470 The School 439 Total 1315 As compared with the list of 1870 it will be noticed that the number of Matriculated Students has slightly increased the number of Occasional Students has diminished mainly in the Evening Classes and the number of boys in the School has shown very steady and considerable increase which is being continued
