THE SCHOOL 371 Rules The Collection to consist of British Insects named and arranged in accordance with some recognised syste- matic work the name of which is to be stated In addition to the name of each specimen the date of its capture and brief notice of the habits of the race to which it belongs must be inserted in catalogue legibly written and numbered in accordance with the contents of the case Each Collection must be accompanied by declaration signed by the Collector to the following effect The specimens herewith fortearded for competion for the Entomological Prize were collected by myself between the first day of June 1871 and the first day of June 1872 and were named and arranged withmit other assistance than that derived from books The Collections are to be sent in to the Head Master by Saturday June 1872 -In estimating the merits of the competitors for the Botanical and Entomological Prizes not only will the number of the objects collected be taken into account but also the neatness with which the specimens are mounted so as to display their most characteristic features as well as the accuracy of the details relative to their economy Any specimen wrongly named will be erased from the list 16 -THE WORKSHOP The most complete and best-made set of Joints 17 -ARITHMETIC PRIZE The subjects for Examination for this Prize will include Vulgar and Decimal Fractions Proportion Interest Dis- count Percentage Stocks and Exchanges together with Mensuration of Surfaces and Solids
