224 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT Special certificates will be given to each Student who shall have filled any office in King's College Hospital to the satis- faction of the Medical Officer or Officers under whom he may have served Application for such certificates must be made to the Dean on the expiration of the period ol service No Student shall receive certificate who has not attended regularly during the entire six months of his appointment If from any cause any gentleman shall be obliged to resign his appointment he shall immediately give notice in writing both to the Dean of the Medical Department and to the Secretary of the Hospital If any Resident Medical Officer or his Assistant be pre- vented temporarily from attending to his duty he shall apply for leave of absence to the Committee in writing Such application shall state the name of the gentleman who pro- poses to supply his place and shall be initialled by the Physician or Surgeon in charge for the day in token of his approval If the emergency is pressing the Secretary shall be authorized to act upon the application which shall be laid before the Committee at their next meeting No one of the Resident Medical Officers shall be absent from the Hospital at the same time as his corresponding Assistant except in the case of the Physician-Accoucheur's Assistant if summoned to labour Attendance in the Wards of the Resident Medical Officers shall commence not later than 10 o'clock in the morning book shall be provided and shall be placed in the Hall every morning in which each In-Patient Dresser shall write his name each day at 10 o'clock in the morning The In- patient Clinical Clerks are also required to write their names in the book at 10 o'clock in the morning on those days in which the Physician whose clerks they are is in attendance and at one hour later on the other days of the week This book shall be laid upon the table at the weekly meetings of the Committee If vacancy should occur in the office of Physician's Assistant during the usual period of time for which it is held
