100 GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE condition and pursuits of mankind in every age and country with the direction and extension of trade and manufacture the advancement of colonial prosperity and the general social life of the present day The Lectures will be illustrated throughout by Maps Sections and Diagrams on large scale Law Classes will be held as occasion may require by Pro- fessor Cutler for preparing Students for the examina- tions for the Law Degrees of the University of London Particulars may be obtained on application to the Secretary of the College Extra Instruction Instruction is also given in Hebrew Italian several of the Oriental languages and Drawing but these are all independent of the regular prescribed course The Fees and the Hours of attendance together with the names of the Professors will be found in Sections VII and VIII REGULATIONS RESPECTING STUDENTS The days for the admission of new Students in the Aca- demical Year 1871-72 are Tuesday October Wednesday January 17 and Wednesday April 17 An examination of all new Students takes place on their joining the College with the view of ascertaining that they are sufficiently advanced to enable them to take advantage of the College classes The Principal and Professors have the power of sending back for time any who may be considered disqualified for admission
