99 general literature and science Extra subjects for Examination at Christmas 1870 Horace Ars Poetica and Epistles Book II History of Greece From 600 to the Battle of Platea History of Rome From the death of Julius Csesar to the death of Tiberius Extra subjects for examination in July 1871 Plato's Apologia History of Greek Literature to the year 500 History of Roman Literature to the death of Cicero Prizes and Certificates -At the examination which takes place at the close of the Easter Term the following distinctions are given To the First in the order of the Examination in each Division of each year Prize of Books Certificates of Honour and Certificates of Approval are given to such Students as in the opinion of the Examiners are entitled to them -No Prize or Certificate is given except for absolute merit nor to any Student who has not entered at least upon his Second Term Mathematics Pure and Applied Lectures daily Saturday excepted from 10 20 to 11 40 ×™ 11 45 to The subjects of these Lectures are Euclid Algebra Plane and Spherical Trigonometry Conic Sections Algebraic Geo- metry the Differential and Integral Calculus Mechanics Hydrostatics and Newton's Principia Sect II III The Students of each year are divided into four Divisions according to their proficiency and in these Divisions they are arranged in order of merit at each Examination
