THEOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT 80 XIII MCCAUL HEBREW AND OLD TESTAMENT PRIZE The Friends and former Pupils of the late Heverend Alexander McCaul having presented to the College the sum of 250 for the purpose of founding Prize which should bear his name this sum has been invested in London and North Western Railway per cent Preference Stock and the annual interest less expenses η ill be given in Books to the Matriculated Student who shall pass the best examination in Hebrew and the Old Testament II This examination is to be held in the Michaelmas Term of each year and all Gentlemen who have been Matriculated Students of any Department of the College at any time during the current year are entitled to be Candidates Students of the Evening Classes are subject to special conditions for which see Evening Classes Department Section XI III The days of examination for 1870 will be Wed- nesday and Thursday October and in the following subjects IV The following will be the subjects of examination in the Michaelmas Term of 1870 The Book of Deuteronomy Chaps -X Psalms LXXIII -LXXXIX inclusive Hebrew Grammar and Composition Old Testament History from the death of Ahab to the end Names of Candidates must be sent in to the Secretary' before on Friday September 30 VI After 1870 the McCaul Prize will be divided between the Students who pass the best examination in Old Testament and Hebrew at the Midsummer and Christmas Examinations respectively Candidates must take up "Perowne on the Psalms Introduction and Book iv Ps xc to cvi as an extra subject
