ANNUAL REPORT In this Department they regret to announce that Professor Plumptre has been obliged by his removal from London to give up the Divinity Lectures which have been of so much value and interest to the Students The Principal has con- sented to undertake the work in his place and so connect himself more closely with the Department -With regard to King's College School the Council have again the pleasure of reporting steady advance both in numbers and success The increase of numbers is greatly due to the creation of the Lower School and its able ad- ministration by Mr Rust The list of distinctions gained by boys who have been educated in the School since the last Report is very satis- factory They are as foUows Chamberlain Queen's Whewell University Scholarship Christie IL 4th Wrangler in 1868 Fellowship at Trinity Clinton-Fyxes 1st Class in the Theological Tripos and dis- tinguished in Hebrew Wix Herbert Alexander 2d Class in the Law Tripos Fawcus 1st Class and Prize at the Trinity College Exami- II -University of Oxford Garrod Η Newdegate Prize Poem Harrison Ε Queen's Second Class in Classical Moderations De Watteville Baeon 1st Class Honours in Natural Science Bomford 2d Class Honours in Botany Prelimiuary Examination -University of Cambridge nation Gow James Wix Ernest Newton Mentioned with much credit for the Trinity Minor Scholarships III -University of London Honours at the Matriculation Obtained marks qualifying for prize
