456 SCHOOLS IN UNION WITH KING'S COLLEGE The Regulations under which District and other Grammar Schools are received into Union with King's College London are as follows That Testimonials shall be produced which will afford satisfactory evidence that provision is made in the fundamental regulations of such Schools for the systematic instruction of the Scholars in tbe doctrines and duties of Christianity as taught by the Established Church and also that the Head Master and his regular Assistants are members of that Church II That if the Head Master be the Proprietor of the School the union shall terminate in such case with his l'ro- prietorship or Head Mastership but shall be open to renewal by the College on fresh application by his successor and that the Annual Examiners of the School shall be approved by the Council of the College III That periodical examinations by competent Examiners not belonging to the School shall take place and copy of their Report be regularly sent to the Council of King's College IV That the Principal of King's College shall be at liberty with the consent of the Governing Body of the School to inspect and inquire into all arrangements made and books used therein Pupils educated in the Schools in Union have the privilege in common with those educated in King's College School of becoming Associates of the General Literature and Science Department of the College in shorter time than those educated elsewhere See page 105 An Annual Prize is given by the Council of King's College to the best Pupil from each School
