304 EVENING CLASSES Prize of Ā£10 given by Messrs Matheson and Co will be awarded at the close of the Winter Session 1870-71 to the Student who shall obtain the largest number of marks at the final Examination in Law and Commercial Law and shall also have given in the best Essay On Marriage Settlements with special regard to their form the Rights created thereby their advantages and the objections to them -No verbal qnotations from books cases or statutes to be inserted in the Essay The Essay not to exceed 30 pages of common letter-size and to be sent in to Professor Cutler not later than Feb 28 1871 31 SHORTHAND Days and Hour of Attendance-Wednesday from to 32 OPEN COMPETITIONS FOR THE HOME CIVIL SERVICE Special Class is formed with the view of preparing Candidates for all branches of the Home Civil Service in as short time as possible The Class is conducted by M'Caul Esq of St John's College Oxford and War Office with such Assistants as he may require Gentlemen may at any time join the Class which is held 011 the evenings of Monday Tuesday Thursday and Fridav from to throughout the year For Fees see Section VI Clause 33 ADDITIONAL SUBJECTS If any number of Gentlemen not less than Ten shall wish for instruction in any other subject arrangements will be made if possible to meet their wishes
