EVENING CLASSES 239 See ρ aire 25 Geology 299 26 Zoology 300 27 Logic 300 28 Political Economy 301 29 Public Reading and Speaking 301 30 Law 303 31 Shorthand 304 32 Civil Service Class 305 Professor Duncan Professor Rvmer Jones Τ Escott Kev Professor Rogers Plumptre Esq Professor Cutler Soutter Esq Samuel MoCaul Dean of the Department Professor Leone Levi LL IV courses of technical instruction With view to systematize the teaching of the Evening Classes and so at once to make it more valuable in itself and to bring it into connexion with the present movement for Technical Education the following schemes for definite courses of instruction have been drawn up by the Principal and the Board of Professors and Lecturers and are hereby strongly recommended to the attention of Students These schemes are intended to prepare Students as far as possible for the following professions and trades The Law Civil Service Mercantile Chemical Manufacturer Engineering or Mining Architecture Special Diplomas will be granted to such Students as shall pass satisfactorily through each Course and every effort will be made to obtain recognition of these diplomas by the Heads of offices and the great employers of labour in each depart- ment The rules for obtaining such diplomas will be as follows
